My name is Brandon Thatcher. Last August I began the psychiatric/mental health masters program. I have recently developed an interest in teaching. Perhaps I will obtain my teaching certificate. I have enjoyed the program because it revolves around understanding people and using that understanding to help them.

2. Why do you as a graduate level nurse need to know about information management?

Information management is permeating both our professional as well as our personal lives. An understanding of how to use it effectively influences our ability to influence others as well as our profession more.

3. Describe what is happening related to IT in your clinical or practice setting.

We are trying to transition to a fully-functional, computer-based charting system. We have made large strides towards this end however we continue to use paper charts for some documentation.
